17. clipping coupons and LOVING it!

16. driving a minivan

15. anticipating needing a 10-passenger van "one day"

9. having a semi holding a crane pull up outside my bedroom window before 6:30am.

8. regetting not taking typing in high school

7. being one of those coupon freaks who you dread getting behind at the store

6. being one of those people who I use to make fun of shopping at CVS or Walgreens with a big ole shopping cart!

5. how meaningful it is to have your child cry out to you to be held and comforted

4. how quickly I become angry when a child cries out to be comforted in the middle of the night because I just want ease/sleep.

3. what a joy it is hear your child recite Scripture or worship God through song

2. having my child ask me (or their Daddy) "What you read about today in your quiet time?"

1. how wonderful it is to see my sin and KNOW that I am forgiven!

What's something you never imagined????

Wanna Make a Little $$$

Sign up for Ebates! I've already earned $16.65 since July. And right now, if you sign up before October 31st you'll get a sweet sign-up bonus!

Go HERE to start making a little money! Oh, and by clicking the below and sign-up, I make a little money too!

Alright. My hubby is laughing at me. Gotta go!

Are You a Caregiver?

This is random but I thought I'd share it anyway. If you are a caregiver you can get CASH BACK for the supplies you use.

What's a caregiver? Someone who takes care of someone or themselves. And moms with little ones count as caregivers! Seriously.

So, if you buy Huggies (not my prefered brand, but I do buy the Pull-ups when on sale and when I have a sweet coupon to stack it with!!!), you can submit your receipt and get $1 back for EVERY PACK you buy! For example, this week at CVS you can get Pull-ups on sale for $9.99 minus a $2 coupon from recent circulars and buy a minimum of $25 on select baby items and get $10 in CVS Extra Bucksm (money you can use your next visit).

Wanna know the details? Go to the Caregiver Marketplace for more info and to sign up.

Yet another blessing of how the Lord provides for those who provide for others... including our little babies.

A Freebie for You!

If you're heading to Barnes and Noble anytime now till the end of the month can I encourage you to print out these coupons? One is for a free drink and the other coupon is for 15% off one item. This offer is only good at their stores.

Free drink? Discount on a purchase? I'm sensing a sweet date night!!!!!

And a shout-out to Uncle F for sharing this dealio!

Spit Up

We had a family from church over on Sunday night impromptu. It was neat knowing that sixteen people could fit comfortably here. Of course, a handful of those were pretty small!

Anyway, the mom, JoDale, said something I keep thinking about. She was holding and loving on PJ and at one point Paloma Joy spit up on her. A couple of JoDale's daughters were around and quickly said, "Mom, she spit up on you."

In the calmest voice JoDale simply said, "Oh, when a baby spits up on you that just mean she loves you."

WOW! Those words keep coming back to me. I want to have that kind of perspective! My sweet little Paloma spits up a lot. And generally I get to be the target. And while I don't get angry necessarily I don't receive it a JOY either. And my littlest's middle name is even Joy!

So, JoDale, in case you happen to stumble across our blog and read this, THANK YOU! I am looking at the messy, unexpectant, generally not pleasant things that happen a BIT differently because of your words. It has made this week sweeter as I keep thinking about how the Lord is looking at various situations. I want His perspective. I want to count it all JOY as I get the honor to stay home with my munchkins all day, every day.

Talk About Some Great Fall Weekends

Thought I'd share a little of our fall fun that was captured on film.

First, our fam of six went to pick pumpkins for the first time. And although we got ripped off and the pumpkin patch was pretty pathetic we still enjoyed spending some family time together in the outdoors. Next time, though, I'll skip the part of trying to prepare the kids because the books we read about the pumpkin patch were NOT like our experience!

I purchased an easel from Craigslist for $10. I had to pick it up with the kiddos and though I initially wanted to get it for Christmas it wasn't something I could HIDE with them in the van! Needless to say, they've been drawing quite a bit!

Oh- and excuse my eldest who's holding himself in this picture. That's something we're trying to get a grip on. Pun intended.
This is what I ended up getting as the lady I purchased the easel from had THIRTEEN pairs of slim kid jeans ranging from size 4 to 7 that her kids couldn't fit! Score! Tremendous blessing!
Oh and how can I NOT put a pic of our THREE MONTH OLD lightweight, Sweet Pea Whitney!? For you stats-driven folk, she weighed in at 9.6 lbs 2 weeks ago. She's light and long (24 inches). A dear friend reminded me that her son, Si, weighed more at birth! God sure does make 'em all sizes!
And here I am enjoying one of my MANY sweet and cool gifts! To explain, we can't get a decent chip out here as you cannot buy UTZ potato chips in the wonderful midwest. (Don't get me started!) Knowing my love for salty chips, my sister mailed me a box full of snack-size UTZ chips. I'm going to eat one for dessert this evening! And Seve, brilliant sending snack-size opposed to one big bag as these will last much longer. Thank you!

Then on Saturday the Chi-town Whits came for a visit and we made our way to an Apple Orchard. Similar to the pumpkin experience, it wasn't what we envisioned but it was fun and memorable. And hot! And smelly. Uncle F and I stepped in some major poo that was enough to abruptly end our adventure.
Check out this forbidden fruit. Icky. I'm scratching now.
And here's my first nephew looking like he wants someone to kiss those cheeks of his!
Team Whitney... thanks for making time to visit us!
Better go for now. Perhaps I'll share more later. Thanks for reading...

Papa Works the Deals

I asked William if he'd make a CVS run for me today and being the gracious Hubby who loves his wifey, he agreed with a smile. Upon leaving this morning I handed him my shopping list, CVS card, my earned extra bucks from a previous week, and two coupons.

Wanna know how he did?

Well, I anticipated he'd spend just under $2.50 (including tax) out of pocket to purchase the following sale items:

One 14-18 count Always Infinity (what every Hubby wants to get for his wife!)
One 32 oz Glaceau Vitamin Water
Two 4.6 oz Colgate Max with beads

So, he got the above PLUS a pack of Starbursts (for him, of course!) and paid a grand total of $0.11! Somehow one of the toothpastes rang up on clearance for 89 cents!

AND he walked out of there having earned $13.27 in Extra Bucks for our next week's purchases! Gotta love a man who can work the deals roll the Extra Bucks over!

Good job, Papa! And thank you for always being willing to help your pathetic wifey out! I love you, my Vanilla Shake!

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly of heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. --Matthew 11:28-30

I woke up this morning with lots of burdens. Some of them are legit. Most are simply stinkin' thinkin' on my part. All of them, however, are known by my God and King and have at least been allowed by Him for nothing happens outside of His knowledge.

So, as I slowly make my way through the book of Matthew in the Bible, I am reminded that God knows ALL of my needs. Do I really, really, truly believe that? I better! For if I don't I can't say I love Him and am His follower.

Jesus commands me to come to Him for He WILL grant me rest. And not only that, if I choose to go to Him with those things that are weighing on me I will find that they become EASY and LIGHT!

How can that be? What does that mean? Will He change my situation and grant me the lazy life of ease I in the flesh desire?

But God will grant me to see my situation through His eyes. I can learn from Him and His perfect example. I will see that when I look at my situation with Gospel-eyes I see how EASY it is to follow Him and LIGHT my burdens are because HE PROVIDES me with exactly what I need, when I need it, in the perfect amount and in the perfect time - for His glory and my good!

He knows me inside out. He even knows the exact number of hairs on my head. How can I not trust Him to provide me with what I need this new day?

So, I end my quiet time this morning chanting my version of James 1:2. I WILL COUNT IT ALL, ALL JOY! I WILL COUNT THE TRIALS OF THIS DAY AS JOY!!!!

Can I get an Amen?
