Week One Ends

Let it be known (to my children, especially) that Mama checks this blog - OFTEN. And you kiddos need to remember that! And I thought it time to make my voice heard.

Friends and Family,

After the week I had without my prince Hubby Bubby, aka Daddy or Pops or Slick Willy, I needed to share just how the Lord graciously filled my soul this morning. Read below.

Oh- and we continue to covet all your prayers for our family!

Psalm 116 (ESV)

I love the Lord, because he has heardmy voice and my pleas for mercy.
Because he inclined his ear to me,therefore I will call on him as long as I live.
The snares of death encompassed me;the pangs of Sheol laid hold on me;I suffered distress and anguish.
Then I called on the name of the Lord:“O Lord, I pray, deliver my soul!”
Gracious is the Lord, and righteous;our God is merciful.

The Lord preserves the simple;when I was brought low, he saved me.
Return, O my soul, to your rest;for the Lord has dealt bountifully with you.
For you have delivered my soul from death,my eyes from tears,my feet from stumbling;

I will walk before the Lordin the land of the living.
I believed, even when I spoke,“I am greatly afflicted”;

I said in my alarm,“All mankind are liars.”
What shall I render to the Lordfor all his benefits to me?

I will lift up the cup of salvationand call on the name of the Lord,
I will pay my vows to the Lordin the presence of all his people.
Precious in the sight of the Lordis the death of his saints.

O Lord, I am your servant;I am your servant, the son of your maidservant.You have loosed my bonds.
I will offer to you the sacrifice of thanksgivingand call on the name of the Lord.
I will pay my vows to the Lordin the presence of all his people,
in the courts of the house of the Lord,in your midst, O Jerusalem.Praise the Lord!

And my "go to" when I am more aware of my sin than His goodness is from the book The Valley of Vision (you can get it here). Check out an excerpt below:

LORD, HIGH AND HOLY, MEEK AND LOWLY,
Thou hast brought me to the valley of vision,
where I live in the depths but see thee in the heights;
hemmed in by mountains of sin I behold thy glory.

Let me learn by paradox
that the way down is the way up,
that to be low is to be high,
that the broken heart is the healed heart,
that the contrite spirit is the rejoicing spirit,
that the repenting soul is the victorious soul,
that to have nothing is to possess all,
that to bear the cross is to wear the crown,
that to give is to receive,
that the valley is the place of vision...

Oh yes! It is good to be in the valley and behold His goodness!
