Entering a New Season

drum roll.....

Our fam is entering a new season. Any guesses what it is?

No, silly! Mommy is NOT pregnant. But, if that was your guess you do know our parents!

The new season is...

DADDY HAS A JOB!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes!!! We praise God from whom ALL blessings flow! Tomorrow the folks go out looking for a house to buy.

Thanks to all who have been faithful to pray for us during this season.

Obeying our Parents

At church yesterday we were really affected by the message based on the following Scripture:

This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. (1 John 1:5-10 ESV)

What was especially powerful to us about this passage is that if we, Joshy, Sissy, and Special K, REALLY (and we mean REALLY) claim to be believers and followers of the Lord Jesus Christ we will have fellowship with one another. As Kenneth Maresco (one of our old pastors at Covenant Life in MD) pointed out, that's surprising. We will have biblical fellowship with ONE ANOTHER, not just with God. That means us kiddos will want our parents to correct us, teach us, reprove us, point out our sin because we will have the common goal of living lives pleasing to God.

SO... we are starting to get more instruction on this as the folks are working on our very first memory verse. And we are PUMPED! We will be working to memorize Ephesians 6:1 which says,

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.

So we welcome you (if you claim to be a believer and follower of the Lord Jesus Christ) to have genuine fellowship with others too. Let us all work toward true fellowship, allowing others to speak into our lives, confessing in humility our ugly sin... all with the purpose of pleasing our great and awesome God!

With much love and affection,
j, s, and k

Money Matters

Not sure Mama wants everyone to know or not but you can hear her on the radio today on the program called Money Matters. It is put out by Crown Financial Ministries (go to www.crown.org). If you want to hear her ask about budgeting while not having any income, check it out.

FYI, she LOVES Crown Financial Ministries. She often quotes Howard Dayton. Daddy likes to ask her, "So, what would Howard say about that?" But, she was really bummed by the response to her question. She keeps saying she should have rephrased her question or given more background info. Either way, she knows they offer biblically sound advice so she encourages you to check them out if you haven't before!

OH- and Daddy has another 2nd interview scheduled for Wednesday, May 2nd. More good news...

God Remembers His People

SOOOOO... while Papa hasn't gotten an offer yet, things are definitely moving! The Lord has not forgotten us!

Daddy heard from three different peeps today that he has not been "forgotten." In addition he got some more encouraging words from different family members which is always meaningful. How kind of God to remind us of His nearness, faithfulness, and sovereignty.

We shall keep you all posted! It's bathtime and Daddy's waiting to suds me up!

Peace and love,
~jw

storytime with the Papa

Sissy getting big every day

Me helping Daddy get the mail. We have to walk a couple of blocks to get it and Daddy lets me go with him sometimes.

Kadin cooing on and on. We love his way of talking!!!

Kadin AGAIN continuing his cute cooing.

Guess what?

Still no answer re: the J-O-B for Papa. This has been (and still is) a great exercise in being patient. Talk about the Lord knowing just what our folks were in need of... PATIENCE.

But, we are still very much enjoying our time together as a family. Yesterday we went to the zoo. The neighbor across the street gave us 2 free entrance tickets to the Brookfield Zoo. And because all of us kiddos are all 2 and under, we couldn't ask for a better, cheaper deal!

One of us will check in with more pictures a wee bit later today! I'm off to take my morning nap!

~kadin

We saw a few elephants. Or rather we saw the backside of lots of elephants and a couple as you see pictured here. They sure are amazing creatures! We also some camel and to think that people ride them is mind boggling!

And we saw some zebras. Again, they seemed like they were drugged or something. Maybe we got there too early and they were still waking up. But we were in awe of their beautiful stripes and smooth skin. I wish we could have touched one!!!!

We took our main stroller and Daddy strapped me on in the carrier. I did okay but was much happier when they let me stretch out in the stroller while Joshua and Sissy were walking!

This is a picture of Joshua and Saraina on the bench after Mommy tried to take them in to see the monkeys. They both freaked out and wanted to be held. But after a few minutes they DID want to go in and so Daddy took them. It was a bit of a let down. In fact, the whole zoo was a bit under par. They had so few animals that it wasn't as exciting as we thought it'd be. And the animals we were able to see were REALLY lethargic! BUT... it was a treat to see these incredible animals and to know that the God we serve created them helps us see just how worthy of praise is our God!

Finally, here's a picture of Mommy and us (although I'm hidden in the stroller) right before leaving. It was a beautiful spring day!

The Baby of the Family

No need for any explanations here!

Big Brother Joshua

Joshua sportin' his Cubs hat. Err... I mean Sissy's Cubs hat. (Grandad got both of them their own Cub's hat after he kept trying to swipe his!)

Joshua in black and white

Joshua was the first kiddo to get sick so he was REALLY happy to get out for a walk yesterday. In fact, his favorite word is still OUTSIDE. But PIZZA or SHOES probably is close behind.

Big brother Joshua is leading the way for Saraina to being doing "pees on the potty." Mama so dreams of the day when she won't have to change three blow-outs in a row (which is what happened this afternoon).

Joshua loves when we have company. This is a picture from when Grammy visited a few weeks ago. Clearly he was happy to get some special love that only grandparents can give.

Little Miss Saraina

Little Miss Saraina crying and crying. She has a bad cold and when she's sick, her attitude matches her illness. Today she's continuing battling a runny nose, cough, and congestion.

Our baby girl looking like a big girl every day!

Mommy glad to have her "ladybug" in her arms and to be outside for a bit, enjoying the warm weather (50s).

Little Miss loves showing off her "tough" girl look but often can't surpress her smile too long.

And here's one more picture of Sissy, Joshua's new name for his little but tough sister.

Random Shots and a Funny Story

Below are some random shots. It's hard getting Mommy in front of the camera but it's even harder getting her in front of the camera after she's shower and made her hair "presentable." Let's just say she's got a LOT of hair and a LOT of hair stories. How 'bout we share her most recent hair story...

One day last week Daddy encouraged Mama to get her hair "done." So, Mama caved in agreed that it was time to go drastic. She was off to a salon. As you all can imagine, Mama prayed on her way to the salon and nervously walked into the very nice establishment (not to be named!). Those fancy places can bring on the heat for Mama!

Anyway, the very friendly hair lady began tackling Mama's hair which was in need of mucho love. As she applied the relaxer Mama was feeling pretty good, was very hope-filled. But, even though the poor lady was working as fast as she could, the chemicals were working on Mama's poor scalp and neck a bit faster. Finally Mama spoke up and said, "My neck is starting to tingle." (That's called an understatement!) Well, she quickly finished and the lady who's job it was to wash, cut and style Mama's hair took over. Even after all the chemicals were out, Mama's neck continued to burn. The stylist blowed-dried and cut Mama's hair and Mama was stunned that she was in her car only 1.5 hours after getting there. Not bad in her experience!

But that all happened Thursday afternoon. Her hair is straight and cut and looks decent enough. Unfortunately, Mama's neck... is... well, let's just say she's got scabs all down her neck! Gross! But, again, let's remember the good in all this: her hair is manageable. Mission accomplished!

Peace out,
special K

Another Close of a Week

It's Friday already. Kadin turned THREE MONTHS OLD yesterday and was 13 weeks old this morning at 7:28 AM. What a morning that was! Yes, the same day we found out that we got a bid on our condo! Yes, the Lord has been good to us!

This Friday morning finds our family still amazed that God would send His one and only Son, Jesus, to suffer and die for us! And we sure do not like to suffer do we? As this day gets started we are asking our merciful and all-loving God to grant Daddy a job offer. But even if He chooses not to bring a job offer our way, He is still good. He is still wonderful. He is still worthy of all our praise!

Daddy and Mommy had some new friends over last night. Listening to their story of "suffering" has us calling out to God this morning. The couple over for dinner last night has been trying to conceive for around 2.5 years! And to think that some peeps don't even consider a child in the womb a life is such a true picture of the fallen world in which we live. (Check out this incredible picture at the following website: www.michaelclancy.com.)

Anyway, our parents are more aware of God's kindness to them in granting us kiddos to them. See, He really is worthy of praise!

So, our prayer for you reading this is to beleive in the One, True, and Only God of all, the One who created you and is sustaining you right now... Jesus Christ! May we all recognize His lordship and our unworthiness!

Oh- the 2 pictures below are Mommy's favorite pictures from our time in MD. Are we some cutie pies or what!?!

Here are more pictures from our time in MD. Mommy didn't get to enjoy the snow b/c she had to care for me and Saraina-bug. And do they look like they are enjoying the snow or what? But, truth be told, I'm ready for the warm weather!
